Rockwell Diamonds Inc. (TSX: RDI; JSE: RDI; OTCBB: RDIAF) announced that the company has recovered several large stones – plus-50 carats in size – from the Saxendrift and Holpan mining operations.

Grizzly Diamonds to change its Name

Grizzly Diamonds Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:GZD) (FRANKFURT:G6H) announced today that the company has changed its name to “Grizzly Discoveries Inc.”. Grizzly’s stock symbol will remain as “GZD”.

Job Cuts Continue In Diamond Sector

De Beers is set to cut jobs in Botswana, which might send a shiver down the diamond industry’s spine, but India has made clear its intention to source diamonds directly from Botswana. Better sense has prevailed, and Botswana has recognized that it would be wise to diversify the sellers of its famed diamonds, rather than just go through De Beers.

Shear Minerals Closes Additional Private Placement

Shear Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SRM) reported today, that on December 31, 2009 the company has closed an additional non-brokered private placement for gross proceeds of $79,999 with the sale of 1,230,769 FT units at a price of $0.065 per FT Unit for a total gross proceeds of $1,084,565. This is however, subject to final TSX Venture Exchange acceptance.

Black Diamond Group update

Black Diamond Group Limited (TSX:BDI) announced that it has completed the acquisition of all of the shares of Nortex Modular Leasing and Construction Company for total consideration of US$17.1 million and the issuance of 500,000 common shares of Black Diamond Group Limited.
